In Finland, the closing ceremonies were held in three educational institutions in February 2023: Stadi vocational college in Helsinki and universities of applied sciences in Pori and Vantaa. A total of 104 students, teachers and trainers participated in the events. In addition, there was a short discussion event at the ViaDia Senioritalo in Nummela, where about 40 local elderly people gathered.
The events presented the results and outputs of the SAVE project: tools for identifying violence against the elderly and their use, a training manual and an online course. Professionals working in services for the elderly were interested in other professionals’ experiences of asking about intimate partner violence and how the elderly feel about asking.
The events were directed by ThM Sirkka Perttu from the VoiVa cooperative.
