On the 1st of February 2023, the final SAVE seminar was held in the auditorium of the Nursing School of the University of Minho, in Braga (Portugal) to present the results of the SAVE Project, entitled: “Improving care for elderly people who are victims of abuse”.
The event, which was attended by professionals and other stakeholders from the areas of health and social work, opened with the lecture: “The Social Exchange: An Explanatory Theory of Mistreatment of Elderly People”, delivered by Doctor João Fundinho. This was followed by an intervention by Judge Conceição Sampaio, on “The defense of the rights of elderly people” and the presentation of the route and results of the SAVE Project, by the national coordinator of the Project, Professor Manuela Machado. The professionals involved in the screening program also had the opportunity to share their experience.
The discussion was moderated by Professor Fernando Petronilho, a member of the project team.
